Dr. Jess
Dr. Jess has been working with local runners since 2002 and since then the majority of her practice has been getting injured runners back on the road and trails. And not just back, but thriving! She’s traveled the world to learn all about running injuries and running technique as well as to treat some of the best such as at the New York Olympic Trials and World Ironman Championships in Kona and formerly with the Cal Track and Field Team.
Throughout the years she has used numerous technologies (sEMG, Foot Pressure Sensors, Angle Tracking, etc.) and equipment to study runners, their injuries, and their running form and has also been a consultant to current tech companies based on her expertise and knowledge of running. She has found the best combination of new technologies used in research, cost-effectiveness for runners, and 20 years of knowledge and experience to help runners of all abilities and goals.
Dr. Jess played Division I soccer on a nationally ranked Brown University Women’s Soccer Team, graduating from Brown in 1995 with a B.S. in Psychology. In 2001 she graduated Magna Cum Laude at Life Chiropractic College West and has built a sports medicine practice in the East Bay of San Francisco Bay Area. She’s participated in running races, triathlons, and cycling events. Her other love is photography, particularly in mid-1800’s printing techniques as well as shooting film in medium and large format.
